A recent body of work that has focused on the materiality of latex, pinned and stretched.
This work started in late 2022 and has continued, it began as a question of materiality and the post-industrial body. How can a material evoke the human, the artificial cosplaying as the organic? It evolved slowly into the questions of the body in relation to emerging technologies and to the ambiguity of gender expression. As it stands now which is only a moment from changing, I view latex as the uncanny anything that celebrates androgyny, ambiguity, and uncomfortable at admitting one is not sure what they are looking at, what they are feeling. The latest project, Skin Archive is exploring the transcription of historic laws into latex sheets, why? because law documents are too banal, paper being used for the inscription of people?
